About the Swedish Prison and Probation Service
The Swedish Prison and Probation Service is growing – we are building new facilities, renovating, and expanding, and we are now looking for more employees. Our most important goal is to reduce recidivism – to break the vicious cycle. If we succeed, society will become safer and more secure for everyone. We are the agency responsible for prisons, probation, remand prisons, and client transport.
Uppsala Remand Prison receives both remand prisoners with and without restrictions. The prison has 66 places.
Job Description
As a Client Officer, you are responsible for processing the clients' legal aid cases. The work involves investigation, decision preparation, and some decision-making according to current regulations. Together with the Prison and Probation Inspector, you maintain and develop the legal aid work and participate in the legal aid forum. The Client Officer is also responsible for supervising probation officers in their role as contact persons, as well as quality assurance of the clients' enforcement plans.

You plan and carry out your work efficiently, even under high workload or temporary tasks. You are flexible and adapt easily to prevailing circumstances and see opportunities in changes. As a person, you are secure, stable, and distinguish between the personal and the professional. It is important to you to always act in accordance with decisions, policies, and guidelines. You are pedagogical and have a clear way of communicating, and you adapt the way you convey information to the recipient to ensure your message gets across.

We are looking for someone who has:
- An academic degree (e.g., law, social work, or social science) or other education combined with relevant work experience that the employer finds suitable.
- Experience of case processing within state, municipal, or regional authorities.
- Ability to express yourself well in speech and writing in Swedish.
- Good computer skills.
The following is also meritorious:
- Experience of case processing within the Swedish Prison and Probation Service.
- Good knowledge of administrative law.
